It is known as 'Cat's Eyes' because when tumbled or cut/polished properly this rare mineral will exhibit a 'cat's eye' instead of just being 'clear' or 'colored'

this comes from a very old lot of crystals I bought many years ago and once its gone its gone!

Petalite is an Angel Crystal. It will help you connect with the Angels, the spirit world, ancient civilizations, spirit guides, and totem animals. It was used to protect Shaman during their ceremonies. It will ground you and protect you and is, therefore, highly useful for meditation and astral travel. Petalite brings you peace and can also calm and evens out your aura. It works best on the Throat Chakra, Crown Chakra, and facilitates easy flow of the Kundalini. It is useful to increase intuitive abilities. It stabilizes the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies.

 I have yet to find another source of these beauties in the rough that will give the 'cat's eye' when cut or polished properly!
