New Rainbow RainMate Water Air Purifier

I love the RainMate! I have a rainbow vacuum and love it but do not like to leave it out just to purify the air. I bought the RainMate and although it run a little louder than the Rainbow on the setting to purify the air it is not an annoying sound. I have noticed that I can breathe easier since this machine has been running in my room and my sister's allergies are better. I love the fact that I can add the fragrances that RexAir sells for this machine and it makes my room smell great!

Two of the functions claimed for this unit do not happen. The first is that it is capable of "filtering" the air. After two days of careful testing I found this to not be true. The unit only stirs up the water in the bowl, it does not trap dust or add humidity to the surrounding air. After the above mentioned two days of testing the same amount of water was in the bowl and the water did not contain any dust or lint. On careful inspection of the unit it is apparent it is engineered to only add smells to the air and is incapable of the other two tasks. It does not, like it's bigger cousin, the latest Rainbow vacuum cleaner, have a dedicated intake and outflow with a sufficient agitator head to generate a vacuum pressure to suck dust or lint that is airborne.

This product works well for removing odors with a little extra humidity but is rather loud when full to the fill line and the price made it a disappointment.

It seems to be working well but I don't like that I am only supposed to use their scent with this machine, plus I'm not thrilled with the scents they sent with it.
