Taller than I expected. (Consider this especially if you have a ceiling fan.) Making the climb up and down is fine, but making the transition in and out of top bunk is a little scary for my girls. Needs better ladder rungs that won't hurt their feet. Otherwise seems OK so far. Instructions are vague. Pay close attention, and expect to take some pieces apart and redo. Be careful when installing the little plastic pieces for the mattress support. They are easily broken, and no extras are sent.
After reading numerous reviews I was a little nervous about this, but it came with instructions and all parts and took my husband and I about 4 hours from start to finish to put together. We actually cut the legs down a few inches to provide a little more head room for my 11 year old and it works perfectly!! He loves the futon under for watching tv and playing video games and its very sturdy if put together correctly!
Not only will it work for them to sit and play their games, they can also have a great place to sleep!
The bunk itself is great. Very sturdy, easy to assemble, and it looks great in his room. Definitely a great buy.
