Skateboarding legends Rodney Mullen and Daewon Song started Almost Skateboards in 2003 after both Deca and A-Team Skateboards folded and left the two riders without a board sponsor. Mullen and Daewon's goal with Almost skateboards was to put the fun back into skateboarding whilst pushing the boundaries of skateboarding and the deck technology such as their innovating Uber light, Impact Support and Double impact board constructions which uses Carbon fibre disc inserts around the Impact areas of the skateboard, resulting in a much stronger deck.

Almost Skateboards have released numerous skate videos over the last 10 years such as Almost 'Round 3' dvd which was the third instalment of the Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon song series, Almost 'Cheese and Crackers' was another video that Daewon and Chris Haslam spent a number of weeks in a warehouse with just a mini ramp and props to experiment and produced some of the most innovative footage recently filmed.
