Audio Authority 9A60A High-Definition VGA to Component Video Transcoder

The Audio Authority 9A60A is an improved version of the legendary model 9A60, adding a status LED along with official support for all 18 ATSC HDTV resolutions, including 1080p.

The 9A60A  makes it possible to connect VGA style R/G/B/H/V video sources to High Definition Television (HDTV) monitors, even if the monitor only has Y/Pb/Pr inputs.(Some manufacturers label these connections as Y/Pr/Pb, Y Pb Pr, or Y Pr Pb).

If you have been wishing that you could connect your computer to your HDTV, the 9A60A may be for you. This gadget has the potential to turn your HDTV into a multimedia display device...the possibilities are almost endless!  Just keep in mind that this device is not a format converter - it passes the sync timings and pixel content without modification. so your PC needs to have a graphics card that supports resolutions and refresh rates that your HDTV can display.  If your computer's graphics drivers do not include native support for HDTV resolutions, a video utility such as PowerStrip (or DisplayConfigX Mac) can be very helpful in configuring the custom settings.

Audio Authority's Description

VGA to Component Video Transcoder

Model 9A60A

Key Features:

  • Converts VGA signals to component video
  • May require third party software for some applications
  • Supports resolutions up to 1080p

Includes a 6-ft VGA cable and a power pack (component video patch cables not included).

The Model 9A60 allows a VGA-type RGBHV video source, such as a PC, to be connected to High Definition Television (HDTV) display with YPbPr component video inputs. With compatible sources and displays, it permits HDTV images generated by a PC or other VGA source to be viewed on an HDTV that is capable of displaying the image format being produced by the source.

If your VGA source is a computer, the 9A60 will make the necessary electrical conversion to component video, but computers do not normally use standard HDTV resolutions, so you must adjust the computer's output signal to be compatible with your TV. Third party software is required for video compatibility and image adjustment. For Windows, use PowerStrip by EnTech Taiwan; for Macintosh, use DisplayConfigX.

The 9A60 is not a scaler. It passes the horizontal and vertical synchronization timings and pixel content to the outputs without modification. For example, a 1080i RGBHV source with a 9A60 will require your HDTV monitor to accept a 1080i YPbPr component video input. Generally, 1080i, 720p and 480p sources, such as set top boxes, may be displayed on monitors designed for the desired format, using the 9A60. However, some combinations of sources and televisions may produce undesired display artifacts or fail to work at all.

As an alternative, consider purchasing the Model 1366 Scaler for these applications. The 1366 can scale a computer image to a compatible HDTV resolution, and properly adjusts for overscan.

Need a replacement power supply? The 9A60A uses a 12 Volt, 1 Amp power supply. (Model 571-013).

Why Cable Solutions?

Design excellence, high quality materials, meticulous workmanship, and superior service...put it all together and you get a superior product. Don't get stuck with bad advice, poor service, slow shipment or an inferior product. If you want the best, here it is.

Shipping/Handling

USA Customers

Our standard shipping method for this item is USPS Priority Mail, an air service that provides one to three day delivery to USA addresses.  This service includes Delivery Confirmation and basic tracking information.

If you need faster delivery and better tracking, we also offer Express Mail, which provides overnight delivery to most (but not all) USA addresses.

If you need guaranteed one-business-day delivery, we also offer FedEx Standard Overnight, which provides the best delivery commitment and the best tracking information.

For items weighing less than 13 ounces and valued at under $200, we also offer First Class Mail.  Transit times for this economy service are typically a day slower than Priority Mail and tracking information is minimal.

For items weighing more than 13 ounces, we offer FedEx Ground.  Please click here for transit time to your area.  This service offers the lowest cost for heavier items and includes full tracking information.

For all FedEx shipments totaling over $200.00, a signature will be required upon delivery.  No exceptions please.

Please refer to the Shipping and payments tab to see the services that are actually available for this item, along with the calculated rates and delivery estimates.

International Customers

Our preferred international shipping method is Priority Mail Express International (EMS).

For items under $300 in value, we also offer Priority Mail International.  Cost is somewhat lower, but you need to be aware that this service provides only minimal tracking information.

For a few lower value items that weigh under 4 pounds, we also offer First Class Mail International.  This is an economy shipping service with no specific delivery commitment.  It comes with a tracking number, but the tracking is poor, and if the package gets lost, it cannot be traced.

We insure all international shipments, but you should be aware that the insurance company requires a 45 to 60-day waiting period before a claim can be filed, and tracking information can be comforting when packages do not arrive within the expected timeframe.

Please refer to the Shipping and payments tab to see the services that are actually available for this item, along with the calculated rates and delivery estimates.

Keep in mind that these transit time estimates are from the US Postal Service. Circumstances in your country, such as delays at your local customs office, can affect the total transit time to your address.

International customers should be prepared to pay import taxes and/or duties at the time of delivery. In NAFTA member countries, customs duties should be discounted for products that are made in the USA, but taxes may still be collected.  Please be advised that we declare actual contents, value and country of origin for customs and insurance purposes.  No exceptions please.

Warranty

Manufacturer's Warranty Statement

Should any consumer product manufactured by Audio Authority fail due to defects in materials or workmanship within one year from the date of the original sale to the end-user, Audio Authority guarantees that we will replace the defective product at no cost. Freight charges for the replacement unit will be paid by Audio Authority (Ground service only). A copy of the invoice from an Authorized Reseller showing the item number and date of purchase (proof-of-purchase) must be submitted with the defective unit to constitute a valid in-warranty claim.

Units that fail after the warranty period has expired may be returned to the factory for repair at a nominal charge, if not damaged beyond the point of repair. All freight charges for out-of-warranty returns for repair are the responsibility of the customer. Units returned for repair must have a Return Authorization Number assigned by the factory.

This is a limited warranty and is not applicable for products which, in our opinion, have been damaged (including lightning, water, fire, etc.), altered, abused, misused, or improperly installed. Audio Authority makes no other warranties either expressed or implied, including limitation warranties as to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Additionally, there are no allowances or credits available for service work or installation performed in the field by the end user.
