A vintage Braun AB 1A quartz alarm clock designed by Dietrich Lubs in 1994

Braun model number 3855

Measuring approximately 56 mm x 56 x 26

Rare promotional example for DUNLOP

A great Braun bedside clock from 1994, designed by Lubs under the design directorship of Dieter Rams. This is a rare promotional piece, having the logo for the DUNLOP on the front.

It's a classic Braun analogue clock; the black casing, pared down dial design and coloured hands (wide white hands for hours and minutes, narrow yellow for sweeping seconds hand and inconspicuous black hand with contrasting coloured point for the alarm setting) are present.

With all elements designed to prioritise ease-of-use for the user, it's a fabulous example of Braun's timeless Bauhaus-tradition design.

The clock is in excellent vintage used condition - it's fully working with only very light surface handling marks and no damages. It is complete with its original box (which has a little expected minor wear) and instructions leaflet.

Payment and Postage

Paypal is accepted and I do not add a surcharge to cover their fees. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it's a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear. In exceptional circumstances it may be possible for overseas customers to pay by another means such as bank transfer in GBP£ by prior arrangement.

All buyers please make contact within 3 days of auction. Payment is required within 7 days.

It has become necessary to offer only tracked forms of postage for high value items. This is because of the increasing number of instances of attempted fraud and I'm acting on unequivocal advice that I have received from eBay and Paypal. Please be assured that the postage options shown are calculated at cost, with a minimal handling fee to cover packaging materials for larger items. I always pack to a professional standard; please see my feedback page for customer testimonies. If you have any questions about any of this please contact me.

Non-payment

All non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. It's hard enough to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder.

Condition of items

Please note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique items and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs.

Vintage electrical items

Vintage electrical items are sold in their original condition without electrical guarantee, so must always be safety checked by a qualified electrician (in the country of intended use) before use.

Returns

Returns are possible, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. I'm afraid that straightforward buyer's remorse does not qualify and that all return costs must be borne by the buyer.

Thanks very much for taking the time to read this. If there is anything I haven't covered please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best of luck bidding!
