A rare vintage Braun AB 20 tb travel alarm clock by Dieter Rams & Dietrich Lubs, 1975

In mint condition with minimal signs of use. The box exhibits a little shelf wear as you can see in the pictures. The original instructions leaflet is also present. A remarkable find.
You could argue that this clock is a piece of twentieth century design history, being the first in Braun's iconic analogue clock range.
It was co-designed by Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs in 1975 and being the earliest in the series and produced in relatively small numbers, is a collectors' piece and correspondingly hard-to-find.
The classic Braun analogue clock features - the matte black casing, pared down dial and coloured hands (wide white hands for hours and minutes, narrow yellow for sweeping seconds hand and inconspicuous black hand with contrasting coloured point for the alarm setting) - are already present.
In addition it has a rocker switch next to the dial for the alarm and a removable panel with a discreet raised Braun logo on the front and world time zones printed on the inside. The more commonly found AB 20 (minus the 'tb') lacked the protective front guard.

Returns
