Vintage Ernest Borel Mappin Precision 9ct Solid Gold Cased Wrist Watch

This wonderful vintage watch is inside a solid 9ct gold case.

The mechanism reads 17 Jewels Swiss, with a number stamped '2390' The link below may be useful.

In very good vintage condition. In good mechanical working order, the crown winds the mechanism and the watch works perfectly. It keeps very accurate time. The dial is a lovely cream / silver.

The back is engraved 'Commercial Union Group. For Long Service 'J. Atkinson.'

The watch case is in very good condition, with no dints but a few very small scratches here and there, mostly to the back of the case. The dial is in very good condition. It does have some staining to the bottom but this is extremely difficult to see without close scrutiny. The hour markers are excellent, as are the hands. The glass bezel is very good, with only a few small scratches.

Comes on brown leather strap.

I believe the watch probably dates from the 1950s/60s.
