Dating from the Shin Shinto Era, this is a stunning example of an exquisitely well made Japanese Samurai Wakizashi Sword that is dressed with fabulous gold accentuated fittings. This lovely Wakizashi is mounted with a gorgeous hand-forged grooved blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 18 1/2 inches in length. The extraordinary matching fittings are fabulously accentuated with gold inlay in a floral motif and the stunning tsuba also wears gold inlay in generous intricate detail. The hilt wrapping remains beautiful in its clean, tight condition and features equally nice matching gold accentuated menuki. The black lacquer scabbard remains near perfect in its condition as well and continues to wear both the original signed Kozuka and Wari-bashi which are also heavily dressed in gold detail.
