This auction is for an original 1960's travel poster for YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK in WYOMING, USA which features the OLD FAITHFUL GEYSER.
Old Faithful erupts more frequently than any of the other big geysers, although it is not the largest or most regular geyser in the park. Its average interval between eruptions is about 91 minutes, varying from 65 - 92 minutes. An eruption lasts 1 1/2 to 5 minutes, expels 3,700 - 8,400 gallons (14,000 - 32,000 liters) of boiling water, and reaches heights of 106 - 184 feet (30 - 55m). It was named for its consistent performance by members of the Washburn Expedition in 1870. Although its average interval has lengthened through the years (due to earthquakes and vandalism), Old Faithful is still as spectacular and predictable as it was a century ago.
This is a vintage 45+ year old original, NOT a modern reproduction. Authenticity is guaranteed. It is printed on high-quality, heavy poster paper. The colors are clear and bright, and the image quality is superb.The collection was aquired from an elderly gentleman who was a poster dealer in the 60's , as well as an avid collector. He paid well over 100k to store the collection all these years. They have been stored away flat and unused, and the colors are still very bright and vibrant.

Condition: This poster is unused, and is in mint condition. It was made by Looart Press, which was known for its quality work. It has been stored flat for over 45+ years, and has never been rolled.

The poster will be wrapped in a protective paper and placed inside in a ridged tube, that then will be inserted inside a Priority tube for extra safety.
