Avid X
St. Croix’s innovative new Avid X spinning and casting rods are a radical version of their popular Avid Series. Built on premium, high-modulus SCIII graphite blanks with Integrated Poly Curve tooling technology for incredible sensitivity and light weight, the Avid X rods share the same blank technology as their more traditional Avid counterparts. Each Avid X features a lightweight, select-grade cork split-grip handle, Fuji reel seat with gunsmoke hood(s), and an exclusive new hook-keeper designed to hold a variety of lures and hooks while eliminating line wrap issues. Avid X rods are fitted with the Kigan Z micro-guide platform which is designed to reduce weight while maintaining proper stripper guide ring height for optimum line flow efficiency. Z guides feature zirconia rings with gunsmoke frames. Guides are expertly wrapped with nylon thread and sealed with two coats of Flex Coat slow-cure finish. The new Avid X series includes 18 one- and two-piece spinning and casting rods – and all two-piece models feature St. Croix’s exclusive slim-profile ferrules. The series is built primarily for hard-core bass and walleye anglers. Designed and handcrafted in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Every Avid X is protected by a 15-year transferable warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service.
