A vintage Braun electric (aka Mach 2 Slim) Pocket Lighter designed by The Hans Gugelot Institute in 1972
Braun model number 6060
Brushed chrome
Measuring approximately 68 mm x 22 mm x 11 mm
This beautiful early Braun lighter was designed at the Gugelot Institute in 1972. Hans Gugelot, who had died in 1965, was a lecturer at the Ulm School of Design (having been appointed by Max Bill in 1954) and a key figure in the collaboration between the school and Braun. He co-designed two milestone Braun pieces - the SK 4 record player with Dieter Rams in 1956 and the Sixtant shave with Gerd Alfred Mueller in 1961. He was regarded by Erwin Braun as "the actual creator of Braun Design" with Otl Aicher.
This vintage lighter is cosmetically in good to very good used condition with some light surface handling marks and no significant damages. The mechanism sparks however it is sold as a display piece only as upon quick inspection did not appear to hold its gas.
