ORIGINAL & UNISSUED AAF Type A-9 Summer Flying Helmet In The Box!


This an ORIGINAL and unissued example of the summer weight flying helmet issued to USAAF pilots and other aircrewmen in early-WWII.  In fact, my late Father is pictured at Victory Field in Vernon, TX wearing one of these helmets right after he soloed in 1942!  The Type A-9 is an OD cotton twill unlined helmet in size LARGE (7-3/8 to 7-1/2). Both surfaces of the helmet are in pristine, unissued condition and are in the original box of issue! The helmet does not have the earcups or the R-14 receivers installed or the wiring loom, all of which are available elsewhere.  The buyer will have my usual guarantee of authenticity and a five-day right of inspection and return/refund privilege, excluding postage.
