Description
Presenting a Pair of Superb, Fine Quality French Antique Porcelain Figurines which I Believe to be by Vion & Baury or Possibly Jean Gilles, and which Date to the Mid 19th Century
Circa 1860+
Depicting 18th Century Courtiers, The Gentleman is just about to give a Love Letter to the Dove to take to his Amour, whilst the Lady is Taking a Folded Love Letter from the Dove on her Shoulder
Both are Exceptionally Moulded and Exquisitely Painted by Hand
The Lady's Dress is Beautifully Draped and the Sheen of the Silk is Very Fine, whilst the Decoration on the Man's Waistcoat and Jacket has been Very Skillfully Executed in Much Detail.
They Stand upon Realistic Earth Bases upon Ornate Oval Stands
No Makers Marks found but this is not unusual
Measure aprox 37 cm High
Very Good Antique Condition although there is historical restoration to the ladies finger and dove's tail and wing, there are a few small firing cracks, and a larger one on the man's base, due to the density of the porcelain, but this would of happened in production
They Display Magnificently
