This is a Buddha amulet called a 'Phra Pidta'. It is
sometimes called a Phra Khwum Bodee amulet or a 'Phra Pitta' amulet and it also can just be called a 'Pitta' amulet.
There are many different interpretations about this sacred amulet, one is that this sacred amulet will 'seal the mouth' of anyone who wishes to bad mouth the owner, another is this closed eye and mouth sacred amulet implores you to be polite with your tongue and remember that much of our own misfortune arises from what we see, say and hear.

PLEASE NOTE: The majority of the amulet cases are not old and have been replaced with new cases. The new cases have been worn for a few years. We do not clean or dust any of our amulets as the amulets can be very delicate and can be damaged by dusting or cleaning. The dust and the original patina on an amulet increases its power and is a special part of the amulet.

The Wat Phra Kaeo Temple is situated in the capital city of Bangkok and is also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This Temple houses a jade statue of Buddha which rests upon a large golden altar. This Buddhist Temple is also the official royal chapel where the revered Thai royal family go to perform their religious ceremonies. This Temple is situated in the grounds of the Royal Palace.
