Chelsea Radio Room Clock, Maritime Commission, WWII Vet, 12E Movement, Runs Well

This Chelsea radio room clock was manufactured for the U.S. Maritime Commission during WWII .  The clock has a phenolic case and a silvered brass dial with the radio room markings for 500 khz.  The radio room clock was developed as a world wide safety measure after the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, and provided for two 3-minute periods of silence each hour and marked 5 second intervals for timing SOS signals around the perimeter

The clock has 12E movement that keeps correct time, and runs 17 days before the mainspring runs down.  There is a lot of space left on the adjuster to advance or retard the speed of the clock (see photo #8).  We will guarantee it for 30 days.

The serial number is 367495 dating it to about 1943-1944.  Check it out for yourself in the Chelsea museum.

The dial measures 5" across the chapter ring and 6" inside the bezel.   The diameter of the case is 7-5/8" where it mounts on the wall.

The sale includes the correct sized replacement key.

We guarantee the clock to run correctly and to be as described.  If the buyer is dissatisfied with it, just return it to us within 30 days of receiving it for a full refund.

Shipping is buyer's choice of USPS Parcel Select, FedEx Ground, or USPS Priority Mail. International shipping is USPS Priority Mail International via the eBay Global Shipping Program.
