Art pottery modeled casting and polychrome painted depicting the
Madonna with child on lawn strewn with flowers in relief;
back of the shawl is painted with flowers, a lily in relief.
Signed under the base Lenci Torino Made in Italy with the flower mark.

Earthenware polychrome painted finish.
There is two minor surface finish rub nicks on flower petals which do not distract from over all beauty.
All on flower petal tips on base.
The piece measures 9" tall x 9" long x 7" wide and weighs in at 3 LBS. Guaranteed old and authentic.
Sandro Vacchetti (1889-1976) was raised in a family of artists, in which
the father, Giuseppe, was the master instilling endless love for music
and painting in his apprentices, Sandro and his seven brothers and
sisters. In 1919, back in Turin, he had the
chance to meet Enrico Scavini, owner of the famous doll company Lenci,
and his wife, Elena König. Vacchetti was Lenci’s artistic director from
1922 to 1934, then founded his own ceramics company, Essevi , which he led until 1952.
