    Description

Here is a rare original MARCH 1972 SCHWINN STINGRAY 20" BICYCLE! (CH Serial Number) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! (the HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind!) The MANTA RAY is a cool bike! It was designed and sold as an adult or teen size Stingray! They only made them for a year or 2 so you rarely see them in any condition! I look for old bike all the time and I think this is the 2nd one of these I have seen in the past 5 years!

*The bike is in the original and very appealing KOOL LEMON YELLOW  (same cool color as the Lemon Peeler Krate bikes) factory painted color. This one has the cool larger Schwinn "cantalever" frame and forks with original paint and decals, apehanger handlebars, cool sissy bar, newer yellow banana seat, (non Schwinn)  You can read the chainguard lettering fairly well unlike most of them. The bike is an original FIVE SPEED stick shift with hand controlled brakes. The stick shifter is so cool! This one even has the "overload tube" in place! (it shifts and brakes but will adjustment, tuning, maybe cables etc) The tire hold air. This one has wider 26x1.75" non Schwinn rims and tires. (possibly the fenders too) They are wider and nicer for riding. Easy solution if you want to go original.... Pickup a cheap Schwinn Varsity, Breeze, Racer, etc bike with 24" wheels and swap the parts to this one. They are out there and they are the perfect source of parts for this bike at a low cost!

*DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 27". The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 25 3/4". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 15 1/2". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 18 1/2". The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

*Now is your chance to own one of the COOLEST bikes EVER MADE!  Make someone in your life happy with this one. This is a cool bike that you can enjoy for years! It is money in the bank and will only go UP in value! You RARELY find these bikes anymore!  They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s. Finding one these days is a big challenge. If you check out Ebay, the selection on any 1960s Stingray bikes is very little. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them! Most people do not sell these bikes once they have them. Be the first to get this bike back out in the light and have fun with it! I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.

*NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is ok for its age! The paint looks fair for a 40+ year old bike! (has lots of chips scratches etc) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) Again, this one is not 100% original parts from when it was new. (wheel, seat, fenders, etc see pics) If you are nut and bolt purist, this is not the bike for you. These all original always sell for over $1K. Enjoy this one at a great price! If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you bid.

*Sorry for the LONG description, these bikes really excite me. This awesome ride starts low with ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE so bid early and don't miss out! This will sell to the high bidder! Sorry, no buy it now is offered. People will ENVY you when you ride by at a car show or on the street with this bike! Sold as is because it is used. I try to list anything I notice with the bike. Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before! You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. Your new vintage bike will be shipped partially disassembled in a factory bike box. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us. You may want to consider insurance, just in case. Once it has shipped, I cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items without insurance.
