Welcome to my auction!! This auction is for a very rare  Limited Edition (LE) commemorative lamp featuring Donald Duck to celebrate his 70th anniversary.   

Donald emerged in June 1934, so his 70th anniversary occurred in June 2004.  Disney produced 1500 of these rare lamps, designed by Kevin Kidney. Although no longer with Disney his Disney creations remain very popular making this lamp highly collectible.  

The Three Caballeros is an animated film produced by Walt Disney, and premiered in Mexico City on December 21, 1944.  The film was produced as part of the studio's good will message for South America.  It stars Donald Duck, who is joined by his old friend José Carioca, a Brazilian cigar-smoking parrot from the Saludos Amigos.  The Three Caballeros received two Oscar nominations in 1944.    

The Walt Disney Company produced 1500 of these limited edition stained-glass lamps.  In this very entertaining lamp Donald Duck is dancing the samba and singing with Jose Carioca, while shaking maracas or rumba shakers under a stained glass palm tree.  The exquisite stained glass lampshade is masterfully made and features greens and blues with two layers of palm fronds.  

This lamp measures 16-½  inches tall from it’s wood base to the top of it’s finial.  The oval base is  10 inches long by 8 inches wide.    The stained glass lampshade has a diameter of 11". Donald Duck measures  5 inches from his feet to the top of the highest maracas.  Jose measures  4-¼ inches tall. The figures appear to be in bronze, along with the lamp stem made to look like a palm tree with very nice detailing.  The oval base that the bronze sits upon is wood.  This lamp is heavy and solid. 60 watt bulb is not included.   

This rare, limited edition lamp is in excellent used condition. I do not have the original box or the original COA.     I do not see any flaws, but I have included photos so you can be the judge.  The lamp will be packaged very carefully, and the package will be shipped with full insurance.
