Additional Information:
Some wear and blemishes on leather from wear and age with faint geometric design. This hand written and blessed amulet contains prayers or passages from the Koran and sometimes include magic items for protection. This is generically also know as a gris gris. It is  made by the marabouts or holy men. Tuareg Amulets exist in two different forms and materials and are worn by both men and women. Leather covered or encased in a silver or tin box, not made to be opened. I have a few in my shop that have the leather worn away and the prayer is written in Arabic script. Amulets are worn around the upper arm or around the neck. This particular amulet is worn on the forehead.
