He bets Phillips $10,000 that he can have an innocent man convicted of murder. Phillips accepts the bet and takes on the part of the "victim." First he "disappears" on a yacht for two weeks. Then, Harrington tracks down a young man named Danny OConnor and offers him $10,000 to take a most unusual job. Danny will be arrested for murdering Phillips and go to jail. After Danny is convicted of the crime, Harrington will appear at the jail and produce the "murdered man" alive. Danny will then have his freedom along with a huge paycheck. Because Danny is struggling to find a job to support his elderly mother and marry his sweetheart (played by a very young and voluptuous Clara Bow), he goes along with the arrangement. Will Harrington carry out the plan? Will unforeseen circumstances prevent Danny from walking out of his prison cell a rich man?
