Stunning! ~ This gorgeous textile is an antique French curtain panel, dating c1910. This beautiful curtain is backed in a lovely satanised , natural toned cotton. The front fabric is the most wonderful floral fabric, that was printed using a combination of roller printing techniques and block printing. The tones are stunning, delicate and soft~ the tone of the ground is a warm cream tone, and the other colors include: pale blue, pinks, reds, pale gray/blue, camel and a lovely deep sienna purple. The fabric is a medium weight cotton. The photograph of the long panel makes it appear to have uneven fading near the bottom,  however this panel is wonderful and evenly, gently faded with time.  ~ This panel would be wonderful hung as a curtain or seperated and used as 2 panels. The fabric is ideal for light upholstery, pillows , framing and many many decorative projects. The backing is machine stitched to the front fabric. The front fabric is 2 long panels of the floral design, machine stitched together~ ( I do have more of this wonderful fabric so please email if interested)    ( panel 1)

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures 100 inches long (8.33 feet ) by 58.5 inches wide  ~ so, if taken apart, there would be 2 long panels measuring 29.25 inches wide by 8.33 feet long )~

CONDITION : This textile is freshly laundered and ready to use. There are pale storage marks on this textile on the right panel in pale lines, where it was hung. If gathered and hung as a curtain, this would be very easy to hide. They are pale, but there. There are some tiny spots on this panel, tiny pepper marks in places. There are holes in the bottom right corner of this panel ( please see photograph 9) and just above that, there is a tear near the side also. The tear can be easily hand stitched and measure approx. 3 inches . Below the tear, there is a 1 inch hole, again can be stitched closed. Each edge is machine stitched with a hem, ready to hang ~

Please email me if condition is vital to your purchase and we can discuss condition in detail. When describing my textiles, I use my best judgment, knowledge and experience to estimate their age. I have had many years of research and hands on experience with these wonderful textiles. I describe items as Antique if I estimate the age to be 100 years of age or greater. EBay currently define an antique as dating to 1930 or earlier. I describe items as Vintage, as per the dictionary definition, if I feel the textile has age, or is outdated or old-fashioned, dating from the past. If I use both Antique/Vintage when describing a textile, it is because I feel the textile is most likely 100 years of age or greater, but may fall just short of that date. I often work in collaboration with other colleagues and textile specialists to ascertain the approximate age of my textiles, however ultimately any statement of age is a matter of best judgment only~*~I also use my best professional judgment to ascertain the fiber content of my textiles, using sight and feel and where possible historical information and context to help me to identify plants used in a particular era. However, because my textiles are old, any statement of fiber content is again always only my best professional assessment. ~*~ I feel privileged and honored to bring these textiles to you, I sincerely thank you for your interest ~*~
