RARE FOCUS 7000 BY KRAMER 4 STRING BASS

~Made in Japan~

A versatile, fast playing, well balanced and comfortable bass. You can easily dial in Precision and Jazz bass like tones. The body's lower horn deeper cutaway design allows for a better reach around to the upper octave regions on the fretboard. This is an earlier production FOCUS 7000 by the Kramer Guitar Co., most likely manufactured by the ESP GUITAR Co. (JAPAN) for the KRAMER USA Co.(note: same "MIJ" stamp behind the peghead as found on period-like older ESP basses). ALL original~ aside from the following: Output jack recently upgraded with a brand new "Switchcraft" installed AND 3 GOTOH metal control knobs in chrome (with set screws) installed in lieu of the original plastic black speed knobs (also included with the bass) which I prefer.

www.vintagekramer.com  provides additional detailed info for many of the Vintage Kramer guitars and basses. For the Focus series it shows that the 7000 bass series was only in production for a short while (about a year. I found out that later production basses feature a large "KRAMER" word logo on the peghead followed by the model: "Focus 7000" unlike this one). Japanese luthiers from the 1980's are highly regarded for producing some of the best crafted instruments in the world, IMHO this bass is no exception and a steal for the price!

Featuring: Kramer logo/serial number on the neck/body plate, Candy Apple Red high gloss finish with bolt on Maple neck/Rosewood fingerboard. The body is made from Alder wood. The Truss Rod is fully functional (and similarly to a vintage Fender Bass...you'll have to carefully remove the neck to make any adjustments); the neck has proper amount of relief. All 4 tuners are very solid, of high quality (possibly by Gotoh) maintaining string intonation very well. The bridge is fully 3 way adjustable (made by Schaller~Germany~same brand for both strap lock buttons). The nut seems to be "bone" and not plastic material. All original pickups and electronics (2 Vol; 1 Tone; 3 way switch for pickup selection: neck, both or humbucker bridge pickups plus a 2 way select switch for either series or parallel selection (appliable only when selecting: either both P + Humbucker J pick up comination or with the humbucker J pickup alone). The neck is "C" shape and 1 & 5/8ths" at the nut. 34" scale with 21 frets (with plenty of fret life). Overall weigh: about 8.5 lbs. I will also include the plastic speed knobs that came originally with the bass.

It is very clean for a 25 or plus year old bass - no cracks anywhere on the wood and the most noticeable blemishes are very few noticeable indentations which can be seen (per pics): found @: the lower edge of the peghead (pic 5) and a circular wood nail head size spot closest to the right side of the lower horn (pic 7) where the paint got chipped off(the rest is all light reflections), above any of the fewer smaller mild dings which you'll have to search to find on sections of the front and back of the body and although there's no serious BB rash on the backside, there are some mild swirls and lines on the clear finish as well from contact with clothing and other objects (pics 10-12) which I deem typical of an instrument this old.

I will ship this bass in a Road Runner Deluxe padded gigbag in great condition.
