Nice Old Tempwood stove.  Most of you probably havent seen one of these but

they are great stoves.  Anyone that has had one, will tell you that they work wonderfully. 

They are very easy to control with the two top vents and produce lots of heat with 

very little wood.  The ash only needs to be emptied once a month generally and it

is all nice and fine so you know everything has been burned to a crisp.

If you know anything about Tempwoods, you know they are meant to be simple

with no power cords.  This appears to be one of the last few they produced

as it is heavier then the Tempwood II model and it has an extra layer of sheet metal

 & a blower attached to the back.    It can be run without the blower, but I suppose

it was meant to help circulate the heat better.  

The original label saying Tempwood III and the clearances is still attached to the

back and quite clearly readable.  I think they rated these around 55k btus  but

some people heat their entire house with them.   When they are cranking,

they are pretty amazing. 

They are easier to start as well, since taking the air from the top 

creates a jet engine effect with the air and your kindling will catch

easily.   And, it is basically air tight, so if you close the two air intakes,

it will go out quick.
