Pocket nappy:
It combines the absorbency and quick drying qualities of a Flat nappy with the convenience of an All-in-One nappy. It allows you to separate the absorbent part of the nappy when washing and drying. Pocket nappies work by stuffing a terry, bamboo booster/nappy insert pad into a pocket between the waterproof outer and the fleecy, stay-dry layer that goes against baby's skin. It is balanced out by their convenience and the fact that a separate waterproof wrap is not necessary.
Nappy description:
- Inner Layer: The inside is covered in a soft micro-fleece to keep bottoms dry, and the unique design prevents leakage. Bamboo nappies is cover in a layer of high quality bamboo.
- Out Layer: It is made from Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) laminated fabric, which is highly water-resistant, breathable, and extremely durable. Choice of two different types: Minky and Cotton. Minky is a soft velour type material. Ideal for delicate baby skin.
- Microfibre Insert: 2-3 absorbent Microfibre or Bamboo 3 layers inserts (boosters)can be stuffed into the back opening- this is covered to ensure your baby stays nice and dry. These inserts are really soft and absorbent. Each insert has 3 layers and are made from cotton and microfibre that have super fast absorbent inundation, very easy to be dried. Re-usable & Machine washable.
- Bamboo nappy insert/booster: Bamboo is a naturally occurring fibre. It grows quickly and easily, without the need for pesticides or fertilizers. Bamboo is biodegradable. The fibre has an unrivalled silky texture and readily absorbs moisture. Bamboo fibre has natural antibacterial elements to help fight bacteria growth in your nappies. Bamboo is an extremely soft fibre and needs a good backing to make it durable enough to withstand the requirements of nappies. Bamboo/cotton or 100% bamboo fabrics will fray and fall apart quickly while a bamboo/poly blend will stand the test of time.

How Many Nappies Do You Need:
It depends on how efficient your washing system is. As a rough guide, you’d probably need to buy 10-20 reusable nappies with 2 inserts for each nappy. You do not need any nappy covers as the out layers of nappies are waterproof (but breathable). Nappy liners are recommended to purchase with the reusable nappies.
Washing Instructions:
Pre-washing your nappies
- Remember to wash your fibre nappies before the first use to boost absorbency and remove residues from the fibre treatment and manufacture process (there is no need to dry between washes).
- NO bleach.
- NO fabric conditioner
- DO NOT stretch the elastic whilst nappies and wraps are still warm, as this can lead to elastic failure.
- 40 degrees machine washable.
- Do not use a dryer.
Go real, No more nappy rash:
The underlying principle to preventing nappy rash is to change the nappy frequently. Prolonged skin contact with soiled nappies causes nappy rash. However, nappy rash could also be a symptom of teething; a reaction to new food that the baby's digestive system isn't ready for; or prolonged contact with perfumes, detergents and other chemicals that are used on the baby's skin.
This is backed up by the study 'getting to the Bottom of nappy rash' by J.Golding, which was part of the 1997 Avon Longitudinal study of Pregnancy and Childhood published by the British Journal of General Practice, which found that nappy rash is no more likely when using Real nappies.
