Up on auction is an extremely rare tin plate Datsun Nissan 1000 model, produced in Greece by 'Solpa' ('Solpakides Bros') during the late 1960's. These are very scarce, and probably were produced for a short period of time. Early litho box.

Although it does resemble the original Japan made Asahi Datsun 1000 model in several aspects, it could be possible this Solpa model didn't derive directly from the Asahi Datsun.

The car measures around 28 cm. in length, and almost 10.5 cm. width. The bodyshell, as well as the interior and base plate are entirely made from tinplate, features a litho decorated interior, and a plastic driver. (reminiscent of the German 'MS' Seidel driver figure)

Finished in red with a black top, the model is battery operated, headlights light up, the motor is not functioning smoothly though;

As far as condition goes, the car is unplayed, has some minor finishing imperfections, and a slight bump on its' roof, but no major flaws are visible. Minimal chromewear on both windshield trims.

Comes in its' original beautifully illustrated litho box, which is in very good plus condition as well-no sunwear, tears or crushing-just minor edgewear, due to storage.

These are not easily found, especially in such a wonderful condition; probably very few were originally produced, to begin with.

An outstanding addition to any collection, this is a truly beautiful and very rare model!
