This pretty fish is an oldie- it"s from the Triassic epoch.  It was found in Cachueta, Mendoza, Argentina.  It is 53 mm long on a 140 x 56 mm piece of shale matrix.  The little scales on it's side and back are in place, and the disintegration beginning on the lower part of the body show the fish had started to decay before being buried.  An unusual fish from an unusual place!
