This scratch awl can be used for many crafts including, woodworking, picture frame layout, canvas & leather work. For woodworking, it is used to scribe a line to be followed by a hand saw or chisel when making woodworking joints and other operations. It is also used to mark an exact spot where a screw is going to be inserted for Picture Framing and Woodworking. Not only is it more accurate than using a pencil or pen but by pressing down into the wood it actually starts the hole so that the screw goes doesn't flop to the side when you start drilling making it a common tool for all shops.
This scratch awl is made from hardened/tempered high carbon steel to give it superior strength and the spike tip is sharpened to a fine point. The ABS plastic handle gives this awl a more solid feel than the older wooden style, especially noticable when making holes for stitching or tapping the back of the awl with a hammer. 7 1/4" length.

To calculate your total shipping charge before you purcahse the items than read the following; please take the highest shipping amount for your first item for auctions that have different discount amounts, than add all of the additional discount amounts listed, then subtract the total discounts from the total shipping costs of all auctions at the amounts listed in the auctions. I will always try to give the fairest shipping price posible so if you are purchasing 5 or more items, or the auction(s) that you won ended at a substantial amount more than the opening bid price than you can inbox me and I may be able to do slightly better on the shipping charge, depending on the items.

The shipping charge is calculated automatically based on all of your purchases total weight plus 1-2.00 per item for a shipping and handling.
For international shipping please make sure that you have the correct destination location selected from the shipping and payment page. To access this page click the "Shipping and payments" tab below the listing picture or the "shipping details" link next to the main listing picture. Discounts for multiple items will calculate automatically based on combined weight and or the shipping discount. Although if the package is over 4 pounds or 1.8kg than it will have to be upgraded from First Class International to Priority Mail International so this may effect pricing on large orders. If you would like to track your package please make sure that you pick Priority Mail because First Class only has basic package info like the date it was sent and when it leaves the U.S.. First Class Mail International generally takes twice as long to receive as Priority Mail International so if you choose the less expensive First Class shipping option keep in mind it will take sometimes as long as 2-4 weeks before delivery.
