This is a vintage wooden 4 piece canister set, complete with the original matching salt and pepper shakers. These are wood, have been used, are solid, but show wear to the surfaces. They need a coat of polyurethane or other clear coat, they have been stored inside each other for a long time and came from a local estate sale with many old pieces which had not been used in decades.

Large canister is 8 inches tyall, 6 3/4 inches square

2nd is 7 1/4 x 6 1/4"

3rd is 6 1/4 x 5 1/2

4th is 5 3/8 x 4 1/4"

The salt and pepper shakers are solid wood, the center is hollowed out, the tops screw ion, the holes show "S" and "P", the are 4" tall, 1 5/8" square.

There are some splits in the wood,minor, the dovetail joints keep the wood together and prevent them opening.

All the pieces stack together into one unit, they weigh 5 1/2 Lbs.The wood on the sides is 1/4" thick, the lids are routed to fit inside the canisters, have round handles, and are 1/2" thick. They fit loosely.

The clear coat is available in spray cans, one can is enough to do all of these. The insides, if sprayed, should be done with a coating suitable for food use, or an equivelant wax.
