Up on offer here is a simply delightful original 1950s skirt. This little number is made from beautiful cotton and is still in excellent condition. The cotton has a panel print with an olive green criss cross design, inside each of the panels is a print of large purple roses. The skirt print is very reminiscent of the likes of Sambo, Blanes, Alice Edwards and Horrockses which I am a collector of. I would say it is most similar to a St Michael pink rose print skirt that I have.
Fastens with a metal zip.

A little bit of background on me: I am an obsessive vintage collector and have amassed a huge collection of vintage from Victorian right through to the 1980s. I am about to embark on a rather pricey masters at the Royal College of Art (studying design history) and henceforth I am having to sell off large portions of my collection to fund my studies. Over the coming weeks I’ll be listing everything from glamorous 30s evening dresses, to novelty print 50s day dresses to 60s beaded shift dresses. I can’t believe myself quite how much I have amassed! I am also selling items from the collection of Naomi Thompson, including items that featured in her recent Style me Vintage: Clothes book.
