STANDARD GOLF Co SUNDERLAND HICKORY / WOODEN SHAFTED PUTTER

This is a William Mills aluminium headed putter.  Sir William Mills established the first Aluminium foundry in the United Kingdom at The Atlas Works in the north east of England in Sunderland.  It was here that he produced some of Britain's earliest aluminium golf clubs.  One particular unique fact about Mills clubs is that each club was stamped with the weight and lie on the under part of the head and a serial number was stamped on the top of the head which was recorded at the factory. This was done so if a head was damaged an exact copy could be made.

Shaft in excellent condition.

Grip leather but dried out.

Aluminum head has been well used as can be seen in the slides.

Overall length from heel to top of shaft 89 cms.

A single club selling for between £25 to £100 will cost £6.00 postage and packing due to the increased cost of insurance so a buyer should wait for an invoice if the final bid is in this range.

A buyer who is happy with a club being left in a ‘Safe Place’ by the courier please give details of a ‘Nominated Safe Place’.
