This has got to be one of the coolest hats I have ever come across.  This is the first Mallory Excellent Quality hat I have handled as well the first Doeskin finish hat so I am unsure what attribute to asign to what process but the felt is high quality and soft.  The fedora is gray in color and features a nearly 1 1/2 inch wide ribbon and bow with matching windstring.  I honestly don't know whether to call them brown (that has slightly faded) or maroon.  Whatever it is, I love the combination.  The brim edge is finished in a sewn underwelt and also features spiral stitching that covers the entire brim of the hat.  The leather sweatband is very supple and is firmly sewn to the felt.  The liner shows only hints of age/use and is sewn in.  The felt doesn't have any staining but it does have some mothing.  The pictures show most of it-a few on the crown, some along the brim edge and a few on the underside of the brim.  If this hat fit me I wouldn't be parting with it as it is such a great looking hat.
