This beautiful Carl Alberg designed 23' sloop produced by the C.E. Ryder Company in Bristol Rhode Island in 1982 during the last full year of production is in excellent condition and has been carefully maintained by a succession of four knowledgeable owners since new.  Her rig (mast & boom) were recently upgraded with new tapered aluminum mast and rigging and a new boom with internal reefing for single and double reefing. This replaces the to original straight mast with it's difficult to tune diamond jumpers and the original boom that incorporated the old style push/pull type roller reefing. The old single #6 jib halyard winch was replaecd with a pair of Harken #10 bronze main and jib halyard winches lead to new cleats and Stay-Set X halyards. Beside the adjustable main boom topping lift there was added a new flexible Boomkicker fixed boomvang.  In chocks on the foredeck is an extendable Forespar whisker pole.

There are a pair of cockpit mounted Lewmar #14 CCST all chrome self tailing Genoa sheet winches and a 4:1 mainsheet system. Both mainsheet and Genoa sheets are new Stay-Set X.  The deck is fitted with stainless steel bow and stern pulpits connected by full lifelines with gates P/S.  There is Bomar Lexan foredeck hatch, an new stainless steel quick release bow anchor roller for her new
14 lb. Delta Quickset anchor and a new stainless steel deck pipe thru which passes her 150' of 7/16" nylon rode with 20' of G4 galvanized chain. Fore and aft are new Stainless steel docking chocks both P/S.

Sails include lightly used 2009 Mack-Shaw Mainsail with 2 sets of reef points and a 120% Genoa that is set on a Harken roller furling system. There are 2 Lewmar 8" winch handles one of which is the new Lewmar one-touch / lock-in powergrip type. In the cockpit is a 3" Bulkhead mounted compass. The cockpit contains one lockable locker with access to the cabin and a separate vented locker
for the boats outboard motor gas tank.

Below decks, the cabin has berth for 4 on brand new 3" foam berth cushions, a built-in ice box, and a  s.s. galley sink supplied with fresh water from the boats built-in 20 gallon tank. Mounted between the vee berths is a Groco Marine Head fit with a "Y" valve system.  The cabin has a varnished teak cabin sole covered with a form fit removable bound carpet.

The boats power is supplied by a brand new 4HP / 4 Stroke Yamaha long shaft outboad motor that mounts in a well and can be removed and lock on the OBM mounding pad on the stern pulpit.

The hulls original gel-coat is in excellent condition and has just been, prior to launching in February, professionally compounded and waxed.  All mahogany trim, toe rails, deck hand grips, cockpit coamings, companionway trim, and hatchboards were stripped and given 5 coats of Sikkens Gloss Cetol type varnish.  Her bottom has 2 coats of Seahawk Ablative red untifouling paint and her black waterline stripe and gold leaf cove strip were freshly painted this past haulout.

The boat is in her slip at Sebastian River Marina & Boatyard and is read to sail anywhere.  One of her sister ships sailed from Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay to Cork, Ireland in 1972 so, if you are up to it, you can be on your way.

Note: there is no cradle or trailer with the boat. The yard has a 40 ton Travel Lift and can easily lift the boat onto your trailer or on a professional boat movers rig.  Earlier this year I priced out a brand new 4500 lb. capacity sailboat trailer at $2,495. for a North Caroline trailer manufacturer.

This boat is listed for sale on the Sea Sprite Association's web site as well as Sailboatlistings.comm    Vistit the Sea Sprite website, there is a wealth of information on these stunning little vessels, lots of pictures, and a great forum for questions and answers.
