1976 mk1 Granada Ghia coupe, 3.0 v6 Essex automatic, has now been relisted with 12 month mot as was not moted in previous advert. No reserve auction New vinyl roof, new stainless steel exhaust system, new front calipers, brand new thin band white wall tyre's , professionally refurbished alloys X5, new head lining, new front screen rubber, and numerous bits of trim were needed while the car was off being painted 4 wheel arch trims, rear quater and door mouldings, the paintwork inc new arches and front scuttle corners and fibre glass removed from the drivers door bottom and new metal welded in, was not shy of £5000 then the engine was removed when car was bare metal resprayed in original factory Ford colour, while removed the engine bay was also bare metel re sprayed the engine had full strip down and decoke and serviced, all head gaskets and all other gaskets replaced, engine block painted and cleaned and it runs superb the only job needs doing is the air filter and rockers re painting, the fibre timing gear was replaced with lightweight alloy replacement, that wont sheer teeth like the original causing internal engine failure,it is slightly noisier. the engine fires up well and pulls very well, the gearbox is silky smooth as is the rear diff and no whine, its nice and tight to drive, the kick down is very responsive. The boot floor was also painted at the same time, the roof was rust free and was also repainted. the alloys are like new and also been refurbished. the shell underside is very very original and rust free and no hideous repairs, just straight and solid. the cills, chassis, floors are unwelded and original and all straight clean and rock solid, the car was totally waxoyled before anything was refitted, inside the rear quaters cills doors arches scuttle and underside to keep this car pristine. i have spent £5000 on the body, then the cost of engine removal and strip down, then the timing gear, 5 new tyres, alloys refurbished, new bonnet, trim and fixings, all the service kit, the new vinyl roof, it goes on and on, and owes me near £15.5K BUT if you want a champagne quality car it does not cost lemonade money!!! it is not like your usual coupes 'a good looking shed' its stunning. and has just been photographed for Classic Ford magazine as a feature car! and will be published in June.
