Hi

For sale, 1993 Ducati Superlight Mark 1, #162, one of 522 destined for the European market.

I have owned this bike since April 1993, 21 years and the bike is the ninth oldest known worldwide survivor and the forth oldest in the UK. Source: www.ducati900sl.com.

This bike is in very good condition and is totally original. This bike is as it came out of the factory; the only addition is a Scottoiler.

Current mileage is 13323mls, the last MOT in 2004 confirms this figure, and was the last year ridden.

The bike has been garaged all the time I have been the owner. Since 2005 the whole of the bike was protected by an anti corrosion layer, most of which has been removed for the attached photographs, but not all, it would benefit from a comprehensive deep clean and polish.

The swinging arm was replaced in August 1993 due to an issue of cracking on the MK I's. All servicing has been completed by the owner, valve clearances and belts changed at 12K, but that was 11 years ago. All cylinder studs changed, fork seals changed 5 years ago. The bike has been totally reliable, started today at the first attempt, after not been started for 2 years.

I have the original handbook, toolkit, original receipt, all MOT's, Ducati workshop manual, odd spares and both keys.

The bike is being sold with no MOT,  I have checked the bike over and in my opinion, can be ridden straight to a garage and would pass.

Here is a full description of the condition of the bike. I am being very fussy here so please don't let anything put you off. I just want to be honest so that potential buyers are not disappointed.

Forks sliders are excellent with no corrosion at all.

Controls are all good, showing very little wear. There is a very minor crazing on the orange engine kill switch, but it's fully functioning.

All panel work is in great shape with just a few stone chips. There is crack in the right hand fairing by the indicator, see photograph, cause by fatigue, I have fibre glassed the inside of the fairing to stop further damage fatigue. Single seat has some surface cracking at the mountings but is minor, see photograph. The right hand side of the tank has paint wear due to me grasping the tank with my knee under hard acceleration, see photograph. Frame paint work is good in most places. Carbon is in excellent condition. The as fitted original Brembo wheel rims and excellent as are the disc's.

Any inspection is welcome but I need to have the cash in my hand before test rides please.

I have described the current condition very honestly but please remember the age of the bike and consequently it will have some minor wear and tear.

Please ask any questions.

This is a very regrettable sale.

Please see my feedback for additional reassurance.

Payment is by cash on collection please
