Zum Verkauf angeboten wird eine seltene AMD-Hauptplatine für ein IBM ThinkPad 701C oder 701CS (Hauptplatine ist baugleich bei diesen Modellen). Sie stammt aus der vor etwa einem Monat beendeten Auktion (siehe Text unterhalb und Bilder des Geräts). Leider ist auf dem Transport ein Bildschirmdefekt eingetreten, so dass der TFT-Bildschirm nur noch senkrechte Streifen zeigt. Auf einem exteren Bildschirm läuft das Gerät wie zuvor. Angeboten wird hier nur die "Bottom-Platine" des Geräts (siehe erstes Bild!). Es ist voll funktionsfähig (bis auf den fehlenden Akku). Das Gerät ist in gebrauchtem Zustand - es gibt leichte Beschädigungen: auf der gummierten Oberfläche / am Gehäuse ; die Abdeckung für das linke Bildschirmgelenk fehlt (schauen Sie sich die Fotos an!). Auf der Innenseite ist das Gerät in gutem Zusatand (kaum Gebrauchsspuren auf der leichtgängigen "Butterfly"-Tastatur). Die Hauptplatine ist durch HANTZ & PARTNER (in Deutschland) mit einer AMD-X5-CPU ausgestattet worden - die CMOS-Batterie ist erneuert und sollte 10-15 Jahre halten. Keine Fehlermeldungen beim Start des Laptops. Das AMD-Hardware-Upgrade wurde 1997 auf der CeBit vorgestellt. Zwei Jahre nach dem Ende der Produktion wurden die etwa 8000DM teuren Geräte noch von Drittfirmen aufgerüstet (z.B. Hantz & Partner), um die Investition in neue Geräte zu vermeiden. Die AMD-CPU ist ein "Write-Back-L1-Cache-Prozessor" mit 586 Befehlsstruktur, der von AMD als letzte 486-CPU auf den Markt gebracht wurde, um in bestehende PC´s und Laptops eingebaut zu werden. Die Systemleistung steigert sich durch die CPU um etwa 70% (CPU-Leistung ist um 100% gestiegen) im Vergleich zu dem 75MHz-IntelDX4-Prozessor. [Viele Benchmarks sind noch in Internet zu finden]. Insbesondere beschleunigt die AMD-CPU den internen Datentransfer zwischen RAM, Grafikprozessor und Festplatte durch den WB-Cache, der durch das IBM-Bios vollständig unterstütz wird. Aufgrund der damals neueren CPU-Infrastruktur mit 0.35 Mykron braucht der AMD-Prozessor nur 3,9Watt bei 133MHz gegenüber dem IntelDX4-75MHz mit 3,7 Watt (0.6 Mykron-Fertigungstechnik). It is fully functional (up on the battery). The device is in used state: there are some damages on the top and bottom of the ThinkPad typical rubberized surface, some small defects on the housing (left hinge-cover is missing - see pictures!). Inside in nearly new condition (nearly no traces of gloss on the Keyboard, very smoth Keyboard-mechanism). The "Bottom"-systemboard has been modified by HANTZ & PARTNER in Germany to an AMD-X5-CPU board. The CMOS battery has been changed - this one should last 10-15 years. No error-messages on POST. This Butterfly with the very rare AMD-5x86-upgrade was introduced in 1997 on the CeBit in Europe after the production had already ended. IBM build the 701-BIOS to be used with Write-Back-Cache-CPUs and programmed everthing to work with the AMD-X5 (BIOS release "3o" - see pictures of the configuration-utility). The system-speed has improved about 70% (overall - CPU-Performance has rised 100%) - in relation to the Intel DX4-processor. [Have a look at benchmark-comparisons in the Internet].
