LORENZ Model LO 15 C Telex teletype console, built in 1958 in Germany. Used extensively for corporate communications in Germany and elsewhere around the world. LORENZ devised the original teletype in Germany before WW2 which was later adapted for use in England and the US. When the MODEM came into use with FAX, the Telex fell into disuse. Frequently sent messages could be fed to the perforation reader to relieve the technician from tedious typing. Some enthusiasts have created a 50 baud signal from a computer keyboard to activate the teletype. The current elderly owner has entrusted a retired friend to keep his Telex machine until he can find a home for it in a museum or private collection. Some of the proceeds from the sale will be used to help defray the owner's medical expenses. Several years ago, a Telex like this sold for $2000 in England. The approximate weight is 200 lbs. Crating and removal from Aurora, Colorado, USA. can be arranged locally or at the buyer's expense.
