HOW SOLAR COOKERS WORK



Solar cooker works using heat in Sun's rays. 


Reflectors of Solar cooker reflects incoming Sun rays towards cooking pots. 


Black coated cooking pots absorb the heat energy in Sun rays and get heated. 


The heat thus generated is retained in the pot by the plastic cover 

and temperature of cooking pots go on increasing 

up to the temperatures required for cooking & baking. 


When this temperature is retained for some time causes the food inside cooking pots to get cooked or baked as the case may be.



HOW TO USE PARVATI SOLAR COOKER FOR SOLAR COOKING


As you know now that Sun rays are helping you to cook your food.


The cooking pots supplied with the cooker are painted black from 

outside to absorb the heat of Sun rays. 


First prepare the food items to be cooked and put them in cooking pots. 


How to prepare the food for cooking depends upon the recipes and 

more info is given in user manual provided with the cooker.


Now for Solar cooking it is necessary that more and more Sun rays are reflected towards the cooking pots. 


This is achieved by properly directing the Solar cooker towards the Sun. It has been made easy in Parvati Solar cooker where a Special Focusing pointer is attached to the reflector.

Adjust it as per instructions given in user manual. 


Place the ready cooking pots on the cooking pot stand in the center of the cooker. 


Put inverted plastic cover on them and leave it for cooking. 


It takes about 90-120 minutes for cooking. 


There is no need to readjust the cooker in that period. 


You will see steam collected on the plastic cover indicating 

that cooking is taking place.



Cooker will be shipped by India Post parcel. 


Buyer may have to collect from respective Post Office in His/ Her City/ Village. 

Here are some questions and answers,

1) Size and weight of the cooker: 
Diameter is 26 inches Height is 28 inches, Weight is 6.5 kgs

2) Portability - Can it be folded and carried from one city to another as I have a transferable job?
The cooker comes in semi-assembled form in a box so whenever you want you can dismantle it carry it around.

3) Installation requirements - Is it possible to install manually or some expert help is needed? Do you provide some manual?
We provide user manual. It is very easy and simple. You can assemble / disassemble it in few minutes on your own without any ones help or assistance.

4) Cooking capacity - How many people can it cook for at a time? We are a 4-member family. Usual cooking needs are dal, vegetables and rice.
Cooking pots provided with it. These are from 8 liter pressure cooker. We have found that they are sufficient for 5/6 people.

5) Material make - What material is it made of?
It is made of mild steel and special aluminum mirror which is long life.

6) Components of the cooker - Do you provide any cooking containers etc.? If not, I will need guidance on what vessels to use. 
We provide cooking containers. You can use other cooking pots of similar size. Provided they are painted black on outside surface.
