Workshop manuals are fine, but this book has for a long time been known as the Imp owners' 'bible'!

History of this title.

It was first published in 1969 in hardback by G T Foulis & Co Ltd. It became the book that all Imp owners aspired to because it was written in layman's terms and covered virtually all you needed to know whether it be a simple service to full out tuning.  It was and still is regarded as the Imp Owners' Bible!

It became out of print and copies became sought after.
In 1987 the book was reintroduced by Bookmarque, with full backing of the author, in a new format and again in hardback.
Demand was still there and a paperback edition was published 2 years later. Then came a revised paperback edition in 1995 followed by reprints with the last in 2001.

After this 2001 paperback went out of print, and it became harder and harder to find a copy and auction sites like this started to see copies appear at high and in some cases stupid prices, sometimes well in excess of £100! Tim sadly passed away in 2008 and the publisher was contantly pestered to reprint it but unfortunately it was not a viable proposition.

With the onset of new print methods allowing very short print runs, it became viable. The publisher revamped the book totally as a special reprint in honour of Tim's memory, 44 YEARS after it was first published!

This edition runs to 176 pages in softbound format but some revamping and resetting allowed the inclusion of 'the story' behind the short quote on the original 1969 book (and following editions over the years) about Tim's mother once holding the Ladies' Record at Shelsley Walsh, thus Tim being able to claim an almost ancestral connection with motor sport.

His mother was one very  'fast lady'!
Wikipedia states she 'unsuccessfully raced'. What a totally derisory comment about Mrs May Millington - née Cunliffe - now fittingly put right in this book. I don't 'do' Wiki, but someone should surely update such nonsense.
Of course, the story is not Imp-related, other than the connection to the late author, but fascinating nonetheless.
