IBM ThinkPad T23 Laptop & Accessories - SPARES / REPAIRS

High Spec version, but 2 Faults - see below for full details

 

The photo below shows 1.) The internal battery (top left), 2.) the second "ultrabay" battery (lives in the machine where the DVD drive would usually be) (top right), 3.) The power adaptor (UK) (bottom).

* PLEASE NOTE: There are two faults with this T23 hence advertised for SPARES and/or REPAIRS:

* FAULT 1: It no longer charges batteries internally. Runs on power no problem and will run off batteries with no issue also. You just have to have a way to charge the batteries first (e.g. another machine).

* FAULT 2: The screen doesn't always show a display everytime you power it on. Seems to be intermittent. If it doesn't display first time, moving the screen almost shut and back open seems to rectify it, so might just be a loose connection - I haven't investigated however so can't make any guarentees.

 

NOTE: This machine (type details below) includes the hi-res screen (SXGA+ 1400 x 1050 pixels).

 

Apart from the faults noted above, it's a very clean unit in working order. Here's the full details:

* Pentium III, 1.20 GHZ
* 256MB RAM (2 x 128MB)
* Keyboard: UK (with new “nipple”)
* CoA: Windows XP Professional
* BIOS: 1.18
* Embedded Controller: 1.06a
* CMOS Battery is good, no prompts to input the date/time.


What’s Included?

* The ThinkPad (of course!)

* UK power adaptor and wall plug (in photos above).

* 12GB hard drive - NOTE: This has been scrubbed, no Operating System is installed. I can install Ubuntu if required. As noted above the machine has a Windows XP CoA.

* Main battery (inside the machine, shown in the 3rd photo above)

* Additional ultrabay battery - shown in the 3rd photo above. With the two batteries together it was lasting an hour just powered on showing the boot menu as a test.



What’s NOT Included?

* Note - No DVD/CD drive.

* A minor thing - the screw to the HDD cover isn't included, but I really wouldn't think this is an issue. It's not needed to keep the drive in place.
