IBM ThinkPad T23 Laptop & Accessories - SPARES / REPAIRS

1 Fault - see below for full details

Note - I have edited the photo above to block out the serial number, MAC address etc with the red colour.

The photo below shows 1.) The internal battery (top left), 2.) the second "ultrabay" battery (lives in the machine where the DVD drive (not included) would usually be) (top right), 3.) The power adaptor (UK) (bottom), 4.) The machine with the lid closed, very bottom.

* PLEASE NOTE: There is one fault with this T23 and it's not complete (e.g. no HDD, see below) hence advertised for SPARES and/or REPAIRS:

* FAULT: It no longer charges batteries internally. Runs on power no problem and will run off batteries with no issue also. You just have to have a way to charge the batteries first (e.g. another machine).  I believe this is a common fault possibly with a capacitor that fails on the motherboard, so if you know what you're doing this could be a repair job.

Apart from the fault noted above, it's a very clean unit in working order. Here's the full details:

Spec:

* Type: 2647-4MG
* Pentium III, 1.13 GHZ
* 128MB RAM (1 x 128MB)
* Keyboard: UK (with new “nipple”)
* CoA: Windows 2000 Professional
* BIOS: 1.18
* Embedded Controller: 1.06a
* CMOS Battery is good, no prompts to input the date/time.

What’s Included?

* The ThinkPad (of course!)

* UK power adaptor and wall plug (in photos above).

* Main battery (inside the machine, shown in the 2nd photo above)

* Additional ultrabay battery - shown in the 2nd photo above. With the two batteries together it was lasting an hour just powered on showing the boot menu as a test.

What’s NOT Included?

* Note - No Hard drive.

* Note - No DVD/CD drive.

* A minor thing - the screw to the HDD cover isn't included, but I really wouldn't think this is an issue. It's not needed to keep the drive in place.

BATTERY TEST - as a few people were asking about the batteries I've done a new test. Powering on the unit and leaving it at the BIOS screen, with the screen on but dimmed to see how long each individual battery would last. Here's the result: * Internal battery = 57 minutes. * Ultrabay battery = 52 minutes. Seems pretty good, but obviously this isn't the machine running in Windows etc. Hope it helps to know.
