At auction is a Nikon 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor AIS lens made by Nikon of Japan. It is a standard focal length macro lens that was designed for Nikon manual-focus SLR cameras that accepted the AI or AIS lenses. It is not recommended to try to mount this lens on the earliest, non-AI cameras. The multi-coated lens glass clean and clear with no scratches, fungus, haze, or dust. The focus control moves smoothly and easily. The aperture control moves smoothly and easily with distinct click stops at the marked apertures. The diaphragm blades are free of oil, grease and rust. The focus goes as close as 0.25 meters (9.86 inches) and the focus control moves smoothly and easily. The lens is fully functional and it is in excellent cosmetic condition with only some very minor scuffs to the pint on the lens barrel. The scratches do not penetrate through the paint. There are no dents, dings, or brassing. It will come with the Nikon front cap and a generic rear lens cap. This lens can also be used by many Nikon DSLRs. There are many adapters available now that will adapt Nikon SLR lenses to current digital cameras such as Micro 4/3 and other DSLR brands. This is a very high quality macro lens that has always been very popular with Nikon enthusiasts for its outstanding performance. Due to eBay rules that no longer permit optional or required insurance, I have the following policy concerning shipping insurance. All items sold will be shipped without insurance (unless other arrangements are made). All items shipped will have tracking numbers as proof to the buyers and to eBay that the item was shipped. The flat rate for shipping within USA is $6.50.
