This beatiful vintage sauce pot from the late 50's or early 60's is in mint condition.

The sauce pot is marked to the underside of the base with the mark of Lyngby Porcelain, Denmark. The piece is a factory first.  It has a blue pattern known as the "Tangent" pattern
(Piano keys).

It is a highly collectable item.

The sauce pot have no damage. There are no chips or cracks. There is no crazing or staining. The glaze is glossy and bright. This piece is "Ildfast" which means it is oven proof. The Danild range of oven proof ceramics was produced in the early 1950's and usually marked with the Lyngby Porcelain mark and Danild.

The butter box is 80mm tall and measures 125mm x 98mm.

The Lyngby Porcelain factory in Denmark began in 1936 and ran until 1969.

Lyngby was founded by porcelain dealers Niels Holst and Chr. Knudsen. In 1940 Knudsen had left and the company was run by Niels Holst & Sons. The range of oven proof ceramics was produced from the early 1950's and are marked with the Lyngby Porcelain mark on the buttom.
