This package includes the electronic components to make the Alternating LED Flasher circuit described at:
This is a great little project to make with your kids. If you need a project for a camp, or want to teach some electronic principles, this project might be just what your looking for. Some people have even used this for a Distance Learning / Home School technology project. You will need a 4" x 6" block of plywood or mdf, a 9v battery, and some plain or copper nails (not galvanized) to build the circuit which are not included to keep the cost of shipping low. All the items included are outlined in the parts list. It includes: ~300 mm of bare copper wire ~150 mm of insulated wire 2 - 470 ohm, 1/4w resistors 2 - 4700 ohm, 1/4w resistors 2 - 47uF x 16v capacitors 2 - LEDs 2 - NPN 2n3904 Transistors 1 - 9v battery clip 2 - zip ties Included is a paper sheet with the circuit layout. Just cut it out and glue it onto a block, then follow the instructions to build up the circuit. The tools required are not included in the kit but are pretty common: drill w/ small drill bit safety glasses hammer soldering iron wire cutter, wire stripper fine sandpaper or steel wool Inquire about timing if you require larger quantities than that what is listed. |
