For sale is one very cool 1976 Serro Scotty Sportsman Gaucho
– Model JS15. This camper is unmolested
and original. The living space is 12ft
3in at it’s widest point. From the tip
of the bumper to the end of the hitch is a few inches over 15 feet. I purchased this camper the original family,
so aside from my brief ownership this is a one family camper. I have the original paperwork, fliers, promotional
materials, manuals, manufacturer check sheet, awning, stabilizer jacks, bunk
bed ladder, spare tire and the double bunk kid safety bars. It is very clean for its age as you can
see. It has all the original exterior safety
lights. They work properly. (Brakes, turn signals and running
lights) The electric brakes function
very well too. It does have the modern 7
blade RV tow connection. The tires hold
air and are not dry rotted. I’ve towed
this camper about 25 miles in the past week with no issues. It uses a 2 inch ball. (The ball is fairly low to the ground so a drop
hitch is recommended. The level height
of the trailer hitch is about 13 inches off the ground.) The interior lights work, however one of the
fixtures needs to have the shroud replaced.
(See photo) The camper is equipped
with a 3 burner stove with hood, oven, furnace, refrigerator and Coleman gas
lantern. Tested: Stove, lantern. Untested items – refridgerator, furnace,
oven, sink, water tank. The cushions are in fairly good shape. The two bottom cushions at the drop down
table have some slight tearing from long use.
Otherwise they are in good shape.
Large closet for storage with a clothes rod and door storage. Original documentation shows that room being
used for storage and for a porti-potty. It
has 4 beds – two larger ones on the bottom that fold down and slide out. Two upper beds fold down and are used as
storage when not in use. Includes
original bunk ladder. The exterior aluminum is in good shape. No rips, tears or holes. The paint is oxidized and faded. The white is worse than the teal. It could easily be repainted or buffed out to be very shiny to blind everyone around you as you tow it. The interior shows previous water damage. The spots are documented in the photos
below. There is a roof spot near the
rear bunk and storage closet. The front
and rear walls show spots of discoloration/separation in the paneling from
sometime over the past 37 years. I am
unaware if the roof currently leaks. It
has been very dry and I have had it covered.
You will notice in the pictures that some of the contact vinyl covering
on the roof has peeled off revealing the wood paneling. I believe this is just cosmetic from glue losing
its adhesion over time. I think you
could peel it all off and it would look better – but that is personal preference. Clear title in hand. This camper is being sold as is where is with no warranty
stated or implied. I have done my best
to describe it and used a ton of photos for documentation. I have no history with this camper as it has
been mine for a very short time. High
bid wins. Winner is expected to pay a
$500 deposit via PayPal within 72 hours of auction end. The remainder is to be in CASH on
pickup. Pickup in person only (not by
proxy or service) in Lynchburg, VA 24502.
