Full Spectrum Standardized Herbal Extracts are:

1. Full Spectrum - providing the full range of plant constituents in the balanced proportion that nature intended.

2. Standardized - providing guaranteed potency to recognized marker compounds.

3. Solvent Free - processed in pure, clean, natural water, without ever having touched a drop of non-water solvent. (most other herb extracts use harsh solvents)

4. Carrier/Excipient Free - ultra high speed spin dried, capturing the whole herb in its own tiny microparticle, eliminating the need for carriers that may affect the character of the end product.
(a lot of other manufactures use extra undesirable ingredients as carriers, binders and fillers (maltodextrin (from corn), Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide,  Magnesium Stearate, Talcum Powder and many others) SEE THE FULL LISTING OF UNDESIRABLE EXCIPENTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE

5. Water Soluble - optimizing water solubility for any given herb, even while retaining the full spectrum of constituents of low water solubility, like oils and resins, that appeared in the original plant material.

6. Quality Assured - extracted from carefully selected plants, harvested at peak activity levels by botanically trained farm workers. The process is controlled vertically from seed to drum.

7. Quality Controlled - extracted in a newly constructed state-of-the-art 125,000 square foot, ISO9001:2000 certified, GMP compliant manufacturing facility.

8. Tested - Every production lot is checked and rechecked at the manufacturing facility for purity and consistency using an array of analytical equipment that includes High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC), UV Spectrophotometry, and thorough microbiological testing.

9. Certified - We provide you with a lot specific Certificate of Analysis to meet your strictest quality standards. Additionally, we are ISO9001:2008 certified, Kosher certified, and with the right source materials.

10. 100% REAL HERBS! Unfortunately fraud is rampant in the herbal/supplement world. I've seen companies on ebay misrepresenting their products as "high quality or organic" only to find out they are far from those statements. Even the large supplement manufactures sometimes have to dump pallets of herbs in the garbage because suppliers sell fake herbs to them. So you have to trust whoever it is your buying from. I have been in the health industry for over a decade and won't sell anything unless I use it myself. I pride myself on only using and providing the best quality, wild-crafted, organic or sustainably produced products and never waver from this promise. Health is a gift in life and it is my goal to assist everyone in the endeavor for optimal, healthy living.

May you be blessed with health and wellness!

Qualities
Eucommia is the primary plant-source in Chinese herbalism used to tonify the Kidney Yang functions, in particular as it effects the lower part of the body and the skeletal structure. Eucommia is a superb Yang essence tonic. And although Eucommia is primarily known as a powerful Yang Jing tonic, it is also a strong Yin Essence (Yin Jing) nourishing herb. Because it provides both Yin and Yang, it is a superb herb for men and women alike and can be used by almost anybody to promote the functions of the endocrine system, to promote sexual functions, to enhance normal growth, to promote healing, to strengthen the physical structure and to strengthen resistance.

Eucommia's first fame is in its Kidney tonifying effects. It is in fact the primary herb in Chinese Tonic herbalism for building a strong, sturdy, flexible skeletal structure. It is used to strengthen the bones, ligaments and tendons, and can be used to help mend damage to these tissues, whether the damage be due to stress, age or trauma. Eucommia is also the primary herb of choice for lower back and knee problems, including pain, stiffness, dislocation, swelling and weakness. Eucommia is one of the few herbs in Chinese Tonic herbalism that is sufficiently powerful, balanced and broad spectrum that it may be used alone. However, it will generally be combined with any number of other tonic herbs in a formulation designed to build the Yin and Yang of the Kidney.
Eucommia bark is one of the best herbs for tonifying Yang Jing Essence It is warming without being drying.
It tonifies both the Kidney and Liver which makes it one of the most effective herbs addressing the skeletal structure in addition to the tendons and ligaments.

Eucommia is outstanding to maintain the structural integrity of the body for athletes and exercisers. This is also a superb herb for the elderly in maintaining flexibility and stability.

One of the added benefits of Eucommia is its well documented mild action of reducing state of high blood pressure in a safe and non-toxic way. In addition to its structural benefits, Eucommia has shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory and an aid in the mending of broken bone and torn tissue.

This is also one of the herbs that is traditionally used for the threatened miscarriage or bleeding during pregnancy.

Since the Kidneys are considered to be the seat of willpower, consuming Eucommia will help strengthen resolve. Eucommia is a tonic herb of the first order and apropriate for both men and women.

Eucommia is the quintessential example of a safe, mild and potent Kidney tonic that builds Jing.

As a Kidney tonic, Eucommia is considered an important herb for improving potency in men and fertility in women.  It will be found in almost every formula designed for such purposes.  Furthermore, Eucommia helps slow down ejaculation.

Scientific Knowledge: In 1974 researchers at the University of Wisconsin found Eucommia ulmoides to contain hypotensive compounds. The hypotensive action has been demonstrated in numerous animal models and in humans. The hypotensive compound has been determined to be pinoresinol diglucoside.

Eucommia has been shown to markedly reduce cholesterol absorption in laboratory animals (not proven in humans). It has also been shown to have mild sedative and anti-inflammatory action in pharmacological experiments. The experimental results indicate that one of the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of Eucommia involves enhancement of the adrenocortical function. This supports the traditional theory that Eucommia tonifies the Kidney function, which is now known to involve adrenocortical function.

1. Eucommia extract has been shown to have powerful effects on the immune systems of various laboratory animals. In particular, it appears that Eucommia significantly enhances phagocytic action. Phagocytosis involves the clearing away of foreign material from the blood stream by the white blood cells. In this particular action, Eucommia proved to be as powerful as Astragalus membranaceus and Codonopsis pilosula, two herbs that have been proven to have powerful immunological activity in animals and humans.

An active constituent of Eucommia bark is aucubin. Studies indicate that aucubin may play a role in protecting the skin from UV radiation and therefore from photoaging.

2. Ultraviolet-B (UVB) irradiation has been demonstrated to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the cells and skin, which induces the synthesis of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), causing skin photoaging. Using the human skin fibroblast HS68 cell line in the present study, we investigated the photoprotective effects of aucubin from Eucommia ulmoides. Pretreatment with aucubin significantly inhibited the production of MMP-1 by 57% when compared to the UVB-irradiated cells. Additionally, the senescence-associated beta-galactosidase (SA beta-gal) activity was markedly decreased in the presence of aucubin, which indicates it as an anti photo-induced aging compound. As the effect of aucubin was determined against ROS, the inhibited ROS formation and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, and the increased cell viability and glutathione (GSH) level were observed with aucubin under UVB irradiation. Based upon these results, it was suggested that aucubin might play an important role in the cellular defense mechanism against UV radiation-induced photoaging. An understanding of the antioxidant properties of aucubin could, in part, act to elucidate its protective mechanism on the human skin photoaging.

What are excipients?

Excipients are binders, fillers and “glues” that are typically non-nutritive substances in nutritional products. These substances often test toxic.

Please note: tablets ALWAYS contain excipients (that is how they are made; they cannot be made without them); therefore, it is wisest to especially avoid nutritional products as tablets.

Just a few examples of questionable excipients commonly found in nutritional products:

Magnesium stearate - a cheap lubricating agent; research shows it to be immune-compromising

Methyl paraben - a benzoate family member; a known cancer-causing agent

Microcrystalline cellulose - a cheap filler

Silicon dioxide - a cheap flowing agent (common sand)

Natural flavors - an AKA for MSG (monosodium glutamate), a well known neurotoxic agent

Methacrylic copolymer - methacrylic acid, a component of the methacrylic acid copolymer, has been reported to act as a teratogen in rat embryo cultures.

Triethyl citrate - a plasticizer

Titanium dioxide - used for color; liver toxic

Corn starch - typically from cheap GMO corn; can invoke allergic responses

Talcum Powder - a common excipient rarely not listed on product labels; a suspected carcinogen

Other Questionable But Common Tableting and Encapsulating Agents

D&C red #33 Propylparaben Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose

Hydroxypropyl cellulose Polyethylene glycol Red ferric oxide-orange shade

Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate Propyl p-hydroxybenzoate Sodium acetate

Methylparaben Sodium metabisulfite Eudragit

Would you want to consume anything that is not nutritive? We believe it is unnecessary to take nutritional products which have questionable, potentially toxic, non-nutritive excipients.

Are You Really Eating These In Your Supplements?

Common Tableting and Encapsulating Agents

Povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone or PVP):

PVP is a synthetic polymer used as a dispersing and suspending agent in virtually all encapsulated nutritional supplements; considered to be a potential carcinogen.

Magnesium Stearate: This commonly used excipient can be made from animal or vegetable sources. It is used as a flowing agent and lubricant. It is insoluble in water and may hinder the absorption of nutrients. Research shows it suppresses the immune system.

Maltodextrin: A refined sugar obtained by the hydrolysis of cornstarch. It is used for flavor, as a texturizer and bulking agent. Maltodextrin may contain free glutamate (MSG), which occurs as a result of processing. MSG is a known neurotoxin.

Cellulose Starch: A starch made from plant material that is used as filler, binder and disintegrant. Starches processed from corn contain free glutamate (MSG), resulting from processing. MSG is a known neurotoxin.

Silicon Dioxide: Silica is a transparent, tasteless, powder that is practically insoluble in water. It is the main component of beach sand and is used as an absorbent and flow agent in supplements. It may hinder digestion or the uptake of other nutrients and deplete HCL.

Resin: Resins are used as binders and aid in water resistance. They may be of plant or synthetic origin and are used in lacquers, varnishes, inks, adhesives, synthetic plastics and pharmaceuticals. Synthetic forms include polyvinyl, polystyrene, and polyethylene. Toxicity is dependent on the ingredients used in the manufacture of the resin.

Dicalcium Phosphate: A mineral complex of calcium and phosphorous that is commonly used as a tableting aid, filler or bulking agent. Phosphates can induce the same symptoms as MSG in those who are extremely sensitive to MSG.

Polysorbate 80: A non-ionic surfactant that is a polymer containing oleic acid, palmitic acid, sorbitol, and ethylene oxide and is formed by microbial fermentation. It is used as an emulsifier, dispersant, or stabilizer in foods, cosmetics, supplements and pharmaceuticals.

Titanium Dioxide: This is an inorganic, white, opaque pigment made from anatase (metallic mineral) that is often used in supplements as a whitening agent. Titanium dioxide is a pro-oxidant. It is also used in paints and coatings, plastics, paper, inks, fibers, food and cosmetics.

Polyethylene Glycol 3350: This excipient is used as an emulsifier, binder, and surfactant. It improves resistance to moisture and oxidation. Polyethylene is a polymerized ethylene resin and glycol is a dihydric alcohol.

Pharmaceutical Glaze: This is actually shellac used to coat vitamin tablets. Shellac is insoluble in stomach acid and supplements coated with shellac are difficult for the body to break down and assimilate.

Longevity Herbs and Superfoods Powders are excipient(binder) free and contain no fillers, additives or toxic tagalongs.
