1969 Chevy 1/2 ton panel truck, 2 wheel drive. When I acquired this truck in 1989, it was a 1968 GMC with 6 cylinder, 3 speed on the column. in the early Nineties I converted it to a V8, automatic, and put on a 1969 Chevy nose.
in 1994, the truck was used as part of the "gypsy caravan" in the Maine filmed Stephen King movie " Thinner" and can be viewed prominently in the opening credits, as well as later scenes in the gypsy camp. in those days it was navy blue/white. it still features "bullet holes" from the movie down one side, created by remote detonation.

the truck has not been in regular use since 2002, during much of the time since then, a friend used it as signage for his body shop, hence the satin black paint and lettering.

BODY: What's good: frame is solid, ribbed wooden floor in cargo area is solid, inner fenders were new GM about 20 years ago. nose and barn doors are quite good.
What's not so good; drivers floor has punky spots, both entry doors have bottom rust, quarter panels have rot all the way around, hood has dent, grille has damage.
INTERIOR; original seats are gone, features 1977 Pontiac Lemans black vinyl bucket that are solid but have splits. dashpad and rubber mat are worn.
ENGINE/TRANSMISSION; engine is a transplant from 1977 Chevy pickup. 350 CI, 4barrel carb, has less than 60,000 miles. Carb is in serious need of rebuild, doesn't idle well. engine runs, but not well, no lower end noise, but a lot of lifter clatter. A good oil change, tuneup, and carb rebuild would be where I'd start. Fuel lines are also questionable, and fuel tank should be cleaned out. transmission has been functioning fine.
BRAKES; zero, as in none. master cylinder was removed for replacement, it never got done. E Brake does hold. logically one can expect to put in new shoes, lines, and wheel cylinders, given the amount of time the truck has sat.
TIRES/WHEELS; rollers, that's it. old chrome wheels with tires that hold air.
PARTS MISSING; very few. during its life as signage, the locks for the barn doors on back and the glove box lock went missing. the wiper knob has been MIA for decades and one backup lens is gone.
CONCLUSION: This is a PROJECT truck. you cannot drive it home. unless you have deep pockets or mechanical abilities, this truck is probably not for you, unless you wish it for a centerpiece for the Stephen King shrine you're building in your back yard.
