eBay
Hi All,

So here's my TVR 3000m for sale. I have owned this old lady since October last year. When I purchased her she had been off the road for a while in dry storage. I have since then been making it my mission to get her back to a good condition and MOTD. She wasn't in a bad condition, just a bit neglected

Since October I have replaced the following:
  • Engine hoses with silicon replacements,
  • Fitted Arden electronic ignition, new magnecor leads and new bosch coil
  • Performed a full carb service, then had the car properly set up
  • Serviced the car, new plugs, oil and filter
  • Replaced the rear brake master cylinder.
  • Had the the electrics sorted, everything works now as it should. Sounds like a normal thing on a car, but if you've ever owner a classic British fibreglass car you will appreciate the joys of everything working at once!! Also replaced the original mechanical switches for reliable electronic versions
  • New battery and earth lead
  • Fuel tank was replaced before I bought her
  • Bonnet readjusted to fit properly
  • I remade the footwell trim panels
  • New stereo fitted
  • Replace the chrome caps on the overflow and swirl pots and renewed the original swirl pot
  • Took out the seats and renewed the running gears so they actually work properly
  • Fitted new seat belt, still have 1 to go in but the passenger side was fine so the other comes as spare
  • Replaced the exhaust manifold gasket
  • Replaced the windscreen wipers
  • Refurbed some of the exterior trim
A lot of the work has been carried out by Mark from Mfix http://tvr.m-fix.co.uk he really knows his stuff and has helped me massively! His site is the bible for M cars so if you do buy the car this is a great resource to keep you going

So the car has been really well looked after through her life as you can see from the pic attached. I have literally every receipt from day one, for all repairs upgrades and sales, there are a lot as you can imagine.

She came to me with the following upgrades:
  • John Wade high efficecny unleaded heads
  • K&N airfilter
  • Ford Type 9 5 speed Gearbox upgrade
  • Adjustable shocks all round
  • Twin electric fan upgrade with in car override switch
  • Full stainless steel exhaust system
  • A reasonable chassis,no holes or issues the car is on the original but was re-waxoyled shortly before she was dry stored
So here comes the bad bits:
  • The pictures probably do the paint work justice, its not very good. I just think the previous paint job was a bit naff and in places it has faded in a odd way, so you get some what seem to be very fine lines showing through. The main issue is the bonnet, which is most faded.
  • One of the seats has a small split in the seam and will need to be repaired
  • I believe the thrust bearing has just started to get a little noisy. It's not a big job, and if you live local to me I know someone who could fix this relatively easily, although I don't see it being an issue any time soon.

So that's about it.

I think (I may be biased) this will make a cracking classic once the paint is sorted. It starts on the button, sounds great, and has all the electrical gremlins sorted so is just generally great to drive….

Why am I letting her go?? To fulfil an itch which grabbed me at the motorshow in about 95/96. I am after a TVR cerebra, that and my good lady isn't that keen on traveling distances in the M due to it being quite tiny inside (girls hey!!)

BEFORE BIDDING:
