HxC FLOPPY DRIVE EMULATOR
TO YOUR AMSTRAD
CPC (except 464 models)
OR
SPECTRUM +3

WITHOUT NEEDING THE OBSOLETE 3" DRIVE AND DISKS!

CUSTOM MADE RIBBON CABLE WITH BRAND NEW CONNECTORS-SWITCHES

Attached on the ribbon drive cable (on the 34pin connector close to the amstrad card edge connector) are two small switches. With these you can:

- Choose side, and so use BOTH SIDES OF THE DISK! (the right switch as shown on the picture)
- Convert the normally externall 3.5" drive 'B' to 'A'. This is ESPECIALLY useful, as MANY games REQUIRE DISK TO BE IN DRIVE 'A' in order to run.  NO NEED TO WRITE ALL THE TIME '|B' TO ACCESS YOUR 3.5" DISKS. Also useful if your internal 3" old drive is not working and so YOU CAN USE THE 3.5" EXTERNAL AS "INTERNAL"!

YOU CAN NOW USE A VERY CHEAP AND EASY TO FIND USB FLOPPY DRIVE
CONNECTED TO ANY PC/LAPTOP/NOTEBOOK
RUNNING WINDOWS XP/VISTA/7/8
TO TRANSFER IMAGE DISKS TO A 3.5" FLOPPY DISK

AND USE THEM DIRECTLY WITH YOUR AMSTRAD CPC,

USING THE LATEST VERSION OF FREEWARE UTILITY CPCDISKXP:

-DISCOLOGY:THE BEST DISK UTILITY FOR AMSTRAD. COPY YOUR OLD 3" DISKS TO 3.5" DISKS, FOR BACKUP OR CONVERT THEM TO DISK IMAGES USING CPCDISKXP AND USE THEM WITH EMULATORS!

*notes:

-The ribbon cable can NOT be used with AMSTRAD CPC 464 models as these had no  floppy controller on board, so they lack the necessary external disk  connector

-If you plug in the cable and the drive does not function properly, try to reverse the 34pin connector attached to the drive. No need to worry if that happens, no damage is caused by that.
