Sleeve

The sleeve appears to be in EX condition with some light laminate creasing and a little cracking on the spine along with shelf and usage wear from over the years around the edges. There are no visible tears. It all folds out beautifully. The owners name is stamped neatly side where the booklet/record slides in.

It does come with the original plastic inner sleeve, but not pictured. It will be shipped in a brand new polylined inner sleeve also.

Booklet

Now this is where it gets really interesting. Don’t get me wrong, the booklet grades a VG+/EX- due to some light creasing from handling and some mild spotting.

However this is lowest booklet number I can find any details of online that have come up for sale apart from one factory test sample (just have a look on Popsike!)

This is Limited Edition Number 1623 - Yes that is one thousand, six hundred and twenty three!

Vinyl

Visually the records appear to be in EX condition with some sides only showing the lightest of whispy hairlines when checked under a clear white LED bulb. A couple of sides do show some stylus wear and the odd scuff, however I have listened to the album in full and to me it sounds excellent from start to finish. Generally there is very little in the way of surface noise, and no major ticks or pops noticed, just the regular background ‘warmth’ during quieter sections from a record of this age. I did however notice the odd very light tick behind one of the tracks and a bit of a hiss when starting Side 2.

The sound from this album really does show just how well pressed these original albums were.

For a full system break down see further down the listing.

Record Collectors Grading System

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

The use of + or - allows for items that fall between the above grades.
